How to Dual Boot macOS Mojave 10.14 with Windows 10

Dual-booting is the best way to have macOS Mojave 10.14 and Windows 10 installed on the same machine. And while it’s not difficult to do, there are a few important things to keep in mind before you get started. First, you’ll need a separate hard drive partition for each operating system that you want to dual-boot. You can use Disk Utility in macOS Mojave 10.14 or Disk Management in Windows 10 to create these partitions (or, if you own an Apple computer, follow the steps in our Apple Dual Boot Tutorial). Second, make sure that your primary partition (i.e., the one with macOS Mojave 10. 14 on it) and your secondary partition (where Windows 10 is installed) share the same GUID partition table. You might need to use a third-party program like Clover Configurator or Parted Magic to fix this. Finally, you’ll need to set up drivers for the devices that your computer connects to. If you’re using a Broadcom wireless network adapter, for example, then you’ll need drivers from Broadcom. If you use an Apple USB SuperDrive, then you’ll also need appropriate drivers from Apple. The process of installing these drivers varies slightly between macOS Mojave 10. 14 and Windows 10, but they’re all relatively straightforward. The following tutorial also assumes that you’re using macOS Mojave 10.14 on your computer. If you want to use Windows 7 or 8 instead, then you can follow our instructions for dual booting macOS Mojave 10.14 with Windows 7 or 8 instead. How to Dual Boot macOS Mojave 10.14 with Windows 10 To get started, download the latest version of Clover Configurator from the link above, extract its contents to a folder on your Mac’s hard drive, and run Clover Configurator once it finishes downloading. Select the option to install an UEFI boot menu, then click "Next." Clover Configurator will request your administrator password. Enter it, then click "OK" when prompted. Click "Install Now" to begin dual-booting macOS Mojave 10.14 with Windows 10! If you see a message saying there is an issue with your computer's processor, you'll need to reboot your computer by holding down the power button for 10 seconds or more. When your computer reboots, hold down the option key and click "Restart." This will force Clover Configurator to re-run on your system. Once your computer reboots, Clover Configurator should be running with the option to "Repair" selected. If it isn’t, then click "Repair" and follow the on-screen instructions to fix this. Once you’ve installed Clover Configurator, click the icon for System Profiler and you’re ready to dual-boot with Windows 10! Apple updated the built in System Profiler in macOS Mojave 10.14 with a new feature that allows users to automate an installation of their preferred apps and additional drivers as part of the macOS Setup Assistant process.
